When I got into Johana Moscoso's studio she welcomed me saying, thanks so much for taking the time to come here. And I was, oh no, thanks to you for letting me visit and see how and where you work. Because it's the most generous gesture when an artist lets you into her private world of creation and be able to see the real backstage of her artwork. Johana is a Colombian artist based in Chicago currently exploring the expressive possibilities of machine embroidery to tell the stories of herself and family.

Cuando llegué al estudio de Johana Moscoso de inmediato me recibió agradeciendo por haberme tomado el tiempo de visitarla. Me apuré en decirle que la agradecida era yo por haberme invitado y permitirme ver cómo y dónde trabaja. Creo que el acto más generoso de un artista es cuando abre las puertas de su espacio creativo y uno puede presenciar en directo la forma en que emerge su arte. Johana es una artista colombiana quien vive en Chicago y actualmente está explorando las posibilidades expresivas del bordado a máquina para contar sus historias personales y familiares.
