Chocolate tiles
The shawl is off the loom and I love the Hansel-and-Gretel-chocolaty-gingerbread-house feeling it has to it (hence the pictures).
My usual approach to designing anything is a very rational and planned process, where I don't feel comfortable enough to start working if I don't know where I'm heading (experimentation, hello?) So this shawl makes a difference in that this time I just began weaving and I changed colour as I wove, so I didn't have a total image of it until I unrolled the whole piece off the loom once finished.
I should do this more often. Candid weaving.

El chal salió del telar y me encanta esa sensación que tiene tipo casita de chocolate de Hansel y Gretel (por eso las fotos).
Mi acercamiento típico al diseñar cualquier cosa es un proceso muy racional y planificado, en el cual no me siento cómoda para empezar a trabajar si no sé hacia dónde voy (¿hola? ¿Experimentación?). Así que este chal hace una diferencia en que esta vez solo comencé a tejer y fui cambiando los colores mientras tejía, así que no tuve una imagen total hasta que no desenrrollé toda la pieza del telar una vez que terminé.
Debería hacer esto más a menudo. Tejido espontáneo.
On another note, last weekend I was featured in PAULA magazine in an article about the handmade in Chile. The novelty was experimenting a studio photo shoot (“you are doing great, keep it like that, now move your shoulder behind her, make your chin a bit lower, look to the floor, now look up, balance your weight to the front, relax your hand”) and realising that being a model is not piece of cake... But I think we made it!

En otro tema, el fin de semana pasado aparecí en revista PAULA en un artículo sobre lo handmade en Chile. Lo novedoso fue experimentar una sesión de fotos en estudio (“lo estás haciendo excelente, mantenlo, ahora mueve tu hombro detrás de ella, baja un poco tu cara, mira al suelo, ahora arriba, pasa tu peso al frente, relaja la mano”) y darse cuenta que ser modelo no es cosa fácil... ¡Pero creo que lo logramos!
