Around a cup

Thanks to Sanna Gustavsson from Swedish magazine Vävmagasinet for including me in the feature “Weaving Blogs” (issue n˚2/2014). How nice is it to find out that someone reading my blog as far as in Stockholm can actually feel that close despite the distance and the medium (a screen)?
Blogs do that–they can build an atmosphere around them (something I still haven't found in the brevity of social networks). Because it's not only about the what (chunks of work and real life) but also the how (a personal narrative that links all these pieces in a long and ever-changing story). And this is what I think that makes them especially valuable–they become a sort of permanent gallery that allows to see your creations and life in hindsight facilitating the understanding and evolution of the artist/designer/crafter that you are (at least that's been my case).

Gracias a Sanna Gustavsson de la revista sueca Vävmagasinet por incluirme en el artículo «Blogs de Tejido a Telar» (edición n˚2/2014). ¿No es lindo descubrir que alguien que lea mi blog tan lejos como en Estocolmo pueda en realidad sentirse así de cerca a pesar de la distancia y el medio (una pantalla)?
Los blogs hacen eso: pueden crear una atmósfera alrededor de ellos (algo que todavía no he encontrado en lo efímero de las redes sociales). Porque no solo se trata del qué (pedazos de trabajo y vida real) sino también el cómo (una narrativa personal que vincula todas estas partes en historia larga y en constante desarrollo). Y esto es lo que creo los hace especialmente valiosos: se convierten en una suerte de exhibición permanente que permite mirar tus obras y vida en retrospectiva facilitando el entendimiento y evolución del artista/diseñador/artesano que eres (al menos así ha sido mi caso).
