How do you wear a scarf?

Spring is in its full glory – warm days, more daylight and working barefoot. So, now that I can't wear one of these scarves, at least I can think of different ways of tying them. I remember while staying in Madrid (way back in 2001), one of the things that caught my attention was how the majority of people wore scarves tied like in the centre image, 2nd row (scarf folded in the middle and ends pulled through the loop.) I thought “That's a knot you don't see in Santiago...” Almost a decade later, it's definitely one of the popular ways of wearing scarves here. Do you have a favourite style for tying scarves?
